Betty Who = Best Weekend Ever

This past week I created a piece of fan art as a gift for Betty Who. She is an australian indie/pop artist that is blowing up and is sure to be heard on your radio soon if not already! You may know one of her more popular songs, thus far, "Somebody Loves You"

My boyfriend and I had tickets to do a meet and greet before the show so I got to have her sign a copy of the illustrations for each of us, she was so sweet and humble. You could just tell she truly cared and she even recognized us from previous shows!

We got some swag-tastic posters and VIP cards, and got the biggest warm hugs from each of the laddies I illustrated. Her bassist, Jemila Dunham and keyboardist, Lauren Fuller are two of the sweetest people in the world, we've gotten to know them over the past year or two that we've been following them and we always love staying after to chat with them! They are seriously and truly genuine and talented people! <3

 

Then before she came out on stage she instagrammed the illustration!

And then they slayed the scene!

                  (She sang to Logan for the third time!)

An Update on Color Theory and Char Development

As I have previously posted I am gathering much inspiration from other films I have seen before, to review, or read for the first time find my post in my blog archive or click here.

If you are already up to speed then here ya go!

This is a color script I did with chalk pastel. I did this so I could lay down the ideas in my head that I had for the particular way I wanted this part of the scene to look, as far as colors and warmth goes. The actual design or style of the environment is still under construction, I guess you could say.

The Character Development portion is also still in construction but I have done a bit more experimenting with that.
